Diplomas and Certificates

Information for Graduating Students

1 - Diploma Name

To ensure that your diploma/certificate name is accurate, log into the my.harvard portal and update your “Diploma Name” - INSTRUCTIONS. Please note that if your diploma/certificate name is different from your “Primary” name on record, you may be required to provide identity supporting documents using the Identity Change Request form.

2 - Term Bill Balance

In order to receive your diploma/certificate, your term bill balance must be completely cleared ($0.00 excluding housing rental fee for June or later). If you are sponsored or receiving financial aid, you are ultimately responsible for the remaining balance on your term bill. 

3 - Electronic Diploma 

Harvard University now offers Certified Electronic Diplomas and Certificates (CeDiploma® and CeCertificate®) starting with November 2020 graduates and going forward. You will receive a Certified Electronic Diplomas (CeDiploma®) within two weeks of your degree conferral date. For the electronic version of your diploma/certificate, make sure that your chosen email address is set to “Preferred” - INSTRUCTIONS.

4 - Diploma Mailing

If you are not attending the ceremonies and wish to have your diploma/certificate mailed, please complete update your "Diploma Mailing Address" in my.harvard - INSTRUCTIONS, and submit the Diploma/Certificate Mailing Request Form to Registrar Services.

 

Information for Alumni

1 - Electronic Diploma 

Harvard University now offers Certified Electronic Diplomas and Certificates (CeDiploma® and CeCertificate®) starting with November 2020 graduates and going forward. For the electronic version of your diploma/certificate, make sure to inform Registrar Services of your preferred email address.

2 - Diploma Mailing

If you never picked up your diploma/certificate and wish to have it mailed, please complete the Diploma/Certificate Mailing Request Form to Registrar Services.

3 - Diploma Replacement

You may request a replacement of your diploma if it has been lost, stolen, destroyed, or damaged. Please complete the Diploma Replacement Form, attach a letter explaining the circumstance, and provide supporting documents as listed on the form. Diploma replacements due to a name change are not available.
