Dean William V. Giannobile
Dr. William V. Giannobile, an educator and leader in the field of periodontology and an internationally recognized scholar in oral regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, and precision medicine, was named dean of Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) in 2020. He is an alumnus of HSDM and received his certificate in periodontology and Doctor of Medical Sciences degree in oral biology from Harvard. He also completed his postdoctoral training in molecular biology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School.
Led by Dean William Giannobile, the Office of the Dean provides leadership for Harvard School of Dental Medicine’s mission and strategic plan and creates an environment that inspires its faculty to be outstanding teachers, innovative researchers, and devoted mentors; and its students to achieve the highest standards of excellence in their course work, in their research, and in their service to the community, both locally and globally.
