Dr. Qian Cong received her Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China. In 2017, she continued her training as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow under the guidance of Dr. Yingzi Yang at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Her academic training and postdoctoral research experience provided her with an excellent background in multiple biological disciplines including bone biology, developmental biology, cell biology and genetics. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship, she was promoted to Instructor in Dr. Yang’s Lab at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2022.

Dr. Cong is the recipient of Outstanding Postdoctoral Fellow from Harvard Medical School. In 2022, she received funding from the National Institute of Health’s National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIH/NIAMS) for a K99/R00 proposal.

Dr. Cong’s research interests are focused on understanding how abnormal regulation of cell signaling leads to various bone diseases. She is currently working on the proposed project aiming to decipher the controlling mechanism underlying heterotopic ossification (HO) and its therapeutic development.
