Dean William Giannobile recently named Kate Ellis Rezendes as Chief of Staff at Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM). In this new role within the Dean’s Office, Rezendes will work closely with HSDM’s leadership team and the dean to oversee the daily and long-term activities of the office and partner across the organization with faculty, staff, and administration, to advance the School’s mission and strategic priorities.

Interim Leaders Named for Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, and Development

Dean William Giannobile recently announced interim leaders for the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM).

Dr. Bonnie Padwa, professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) was named interim chair of the Department in early January. Drs. Aram Kim and Supattriya Chutinan, instructors in Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Sciences, were recently recognized for their work as teachers and mentors. Swann Receives Community Service Award for Oral Health Outreach with the Wampanoag

Dr. Brian J. Swann, assistant professor of Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology, was recently awarded a 2018 Dean's Community Service Award for his work with the Wampanoag Tribe Oral Health Relief Effort. The Harvard Longwood Campus community is helping families in need by participating in the Phillips Brooks House holiday gift drive. The goal is to provide books, games, toys, art supplies and sports equipment to children in need. Faculty, staff and students are invited to donate new, unopened gifts for children of preschool through high-school age.

The Harvard Longwood Campus community will be hosting a food drive in collaboration with ABCD, a non-profit organization that provides to low income residents in the Greater Boston region. Well-marked donation boxes will be located throughout the three Longwood Campus schools. The boxes will be collected on the last day of the food drive.
