Harvard University has been closely monitoring the progress of the winter weather event that is expected to arrive Tuesday morning and to continue through late evening. A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Boston region, with snowfall expected to begin around 7:00 a.m. and total accumulations to reach 12 to 18 inches. Morning and evening commutes throughout the region will likely be affected.
As a result, Harvard School of Dental Medicine and the Harvard Dental Center will be closed on Tuesday.
Neither mountains of snow, nor chilly temperatures deterred local families and volunteers from coming to Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) on Saturday, February 11 for the annual Give Kids a Smile Event. The popular event held in the Harvard Dental Center’s Teaching Practices was an opportunity for kids ages one to seventeen to receive free dental care and to learn about oral health.

On Saturday, February 6, the Harvard Dental Center’s Teaching Practices were filled with small patients in neon sunglasses. Nearly 50 kids, ages one to seventeen, were there for free dental screenings as part of the annual Give Kids a Smile (GKAS) event. The sunglasses were for eye protection during their dental treatments, but they added an extra cool factor as well.
We will offer free dental screenings to children ages 1-17 during our annual Give Kids a Smile event. To make an appointment please call the Harvard Dental Center Teaching Practices at 617-432-1434, and select option 1. Appointments are 1 hour (9-10am, 10-11am, or 11am-12pm).
