Dr. Nalton FerraroJoin Nalton Ferraro, DMD, MD, director of Predoctoral Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, for hands-on training on managing medical emergencies in dental offices, which is essential for all clinical staff.

Course Prerequisites: BLS or ACLS certification

Participants will learn how to manage emergencies to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the protocol and steps to prepare for a medical emergency in the clinic.
  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of common medical emergencies.
  • Assess and prioritize patient care during medical emergencies.
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of providers and dental healthcare personnel in emergencies.
  • Become familiar with the use of medical equipment and supplies, including emergency carts, oxygen tanks, AEDs, bag/mask devices, and non-IV drugs.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration for optimal patient outcomes in emergency scenarios.
