Join us in celebrating the 2024 Goldhaber Award Recipient Dr. Daniel Buser with a special tea time reception. Food and drinks will be provided and guests will have an opportunity to greet and congratulate our esteemed awardee.
The Goldhaber Award, HSDM’s highest honor, goes to a recipient of the highest international esteem in their field relating to oral and systemic health. The award was established in 1989 to honor Dr. Paul Goldhaber, a periodontist and researcher, upon completing his 22 years as Dean.
This year’s recipient, Daniel Buser, Prof. em., Dr. med. dent, DMD, is one of the most experienced international implant surgeons with 40 years of surgical experience, and he is one of the pioneers of Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR). The basis of his academic career was a research stay at Harvard School of Dental Medicine from 1989 to 1991. Since then, he has been active with his team at the University of Bern/Switzerland in translational research with countless pre-clinical and clinical studies in implant surfaces, bone augmentation with GBR, bone grafts and bone substitutes, anatomical studies using CBCT, and long-term documentation of dental implants.
