Abstract:
This session will discuss the current host-modulatory therapies in treating periodontitis. Focusing on the immune therapy approaches, such as cytokine inhibitors, NSAIDs, and specialized pro-resolving mediators.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the rationale of using host-modulatory therapy (HMT) to treat periodontitis
- Get familiarized with the current randomized clinical trials of HMT and what these trials are targeting
- Understand the indications and limitations of HMT
