Dr. Rafaela Ferrer de Oliveira joined Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in Brazil, where she earned her DDS and MSc in clinical dentistry. At HSDM, Dr. Ferrer is a research associate in the Silva Laboratory within the Department of Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity (OMII).

Her research focuses on the role of hemostatic factors in mucosal immunopathology, employing techniques such as PCR, immunofluorescence, and phosphoproteomics to investigate neutrophil and platelet interactions in periodontal tissues.
