Dr. Eduardo H. de Souza Oliveira
Dr. Eduardo H. de Souza Oliveira earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), Brazil, in 2015. He completed a Master of Science in Dentistry (Periodontics) at UFPR in 2017, specializing in both in vitro and in vivo experimental models.
In 2022, Oliveira obtained his PhD in Dentistry (Periodontics) from UFPR, with a research focus on clinical studies, immune profiling, and microbiome analysis. He participated in a six-month research internship at ADA Forsyth Institute (Cambridge/MA, USA), before being appointed as a postdoctoral research fellow from 2022 to 2023, where he conducted in vivo studies on immune and microbiome profiling.
In November 2023, Oliveira joined the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) as a research associate in Dr. Magda Feres' lab. He is also a lecturer in the Department of Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity at HSDM, where he advances his research in periodontics, focusing on the interactions between the immune system and the oral microbiome.
