Abstract: ​Periodontal Disease is a chronic inflammatory disease with a silent progression - and irreversible bone loss. Preventative measures and advanced approaches for diagnosing Periodontal Disease will be the focus of the lecture. Non-invasive measures to evaluate periodontal tissues are available and improving patient-oriented outcomes. Furthermore, the dilemma of including implant therapy in the specialty and the importance of understanding how to work towards maintaining the dentition while keeping esthetic and functional implant therapy in mind. ​ 

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Remember limitations of conventional methods to diagnose periodontal disease and how to self-correct clinical assessment knowing the restraints of current diagnostic methods
  2. Analyze invasive vs. non-invasive tools to diagnose periodontal disease and follow up periodontal therapy 
  3. Understand the meaning of periodontal biomarkers and current developments 
  4. ​Learn the importance of maintaining the dentition while keeping esthetic and functional implant therapy in mind 
  5. Evaluate the trend of precision medicine in oral health care and embracing integrated health
