Abstract: This lecture offers a comprehensive overview of the transformative role artificial intelligence (AI) plays in dental medicine. It is designed to equip dental professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to assess and effectively integrate AI technologies into their practices. The presentation begins by exploring the fundamental concepts of AI and machine learning, followed by an examination of current and emerging AI applications in dental diagnostics, treatment planning, patient management, and outcomes prediction. Special attention is given to the ethical considerations and the importance of maintaining patient privacy and data security. The lecture also covers real-world case studies, demonstrating the practical benefits and challenges of AI in enhancing diagnostic accuracy, optimizing treatment outcomes, and improving patient satisfaction. Taken together, this lecture aims to demystify AI for dental clinicians, encouraging them to embrace these novel technologies to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
