Caring for Older Adults: Improved Oral Health and Longer Lasting Restorations

Abstract: Continuing Education addressing the unique needs of the aging population is underrepresented. As the adult population ages exponentially and their medical and oral health needs become more complex, this series of courses is essential for the general practitioner to incorporate special considerations for restorative treatment from door to chair. Our speakers have first-hand experience of both how to address the needs of older adults and how to design treatment plans to promote longer-lasting, appropriate oral healthcare.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Standard of older adult care: Best hygiene practices, best preventative technology, best restorative practices, and denture care guidelines
  2. The concept of Rational Treatment planning including interdisciplinary communication and ethical considerations

Tuition: $70/1 ADA CERP credit hour
