Abstract: Relational leadership, narrative leadership, and emotional intelligence are evident in highly effective, smoothly running, and cohesive teams. Learn how to put these elements to work in your unit and beyond. Learn about communication and empathy. Have more fun and prevent burnout. Deal with difficult situations better. Your words, thoughts, and actions affect you, your patients, and people around you.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Understand listening as a skill and be able to demonstrate it
2. Understand communication as a skill and be able to demonstrate it
3. Understand and be able to demonstrate how to work with conflict
4. Be able to explain how "bad" behavior can be understood
5. Be able to explain power and leadership
6. Be able to describe how roles, urgency, team, and tasks determine leadership
