Abstract: Peri-implant diseases lead to peri-implant bone loss, compromising implant outcomes in both function and esthetics. As a multiple-factor disease, peri-implantitis becomes a great challenge in identifying the etiologic factors and the following treatments. Several strategies have been introduced in the treatment of peri-implantitis, including non-surgical and surgical approaches. Multiple factors may affect the treatment outcomes and predictability. This presentation will include current understandings of etiology factors, treatment strategies of peri-implant diseases, and factors affecting treatment success.
