Abstract: 

Be able to determine if an implant has failed or is salvageable based on the complications present:

  • Restorative Complications: 
    • Crown does not fit
    • Multi-unit mal-relationship 
    • Broken screw 
    • Crown margin supragingival
    • Poor crown contours
  • Surgical Complications:
    • Loose, unstable implants
    • Infection with exudates
    • Bone fracture
    • Membrane exposed
  • Functional Complications:
    • Periimplantitis
    • Pain on chewing
    • Periodic screw loosening
    • Loose abutments

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

Understnad how implant restorative design, initial stability, long-term tissue integration, and proper occlusion is essential in preventing to have complications in implant dentistry
