Here, participants will explore the condition’s pathophysiology for deeper understanding of the origin of this complex orofacial pain. It will emphasize the importance of timely symptom recognition, diagnosis and working on a multidisciplinary team for the best outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand basic pathophysiology of neuropathic pains to understand the source of nerve dysfunction within trigeminal neuropathy
  2. Differentiate between various episodic and continuous neuropathic pain disorders
  3. Identify signs and symptoms of neuropathic pain disorders
  4. Identify when and how to function on a multidisciplinary team for overall patient management
