Rotations - Brigham and Women’s Hospital
Brigham and Women’s Hospital is a 747-bed hospital that is listed in the top 100, if not top 10, hospitals in the country every year. It is a world-renowned Harvard teaching hospital that offers training programs in nearly all medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties. This rotation in the Division of Oral Medicine and Dentistry, which is part time over the course of a month, emphasizes oral medicine and oral pathology.. Residents also participate as members of the multidisciplinary team in the Head and Neck Cancer Clinic of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Residents will gain experience in:
- Evaluation, diagnosis, and management of oral mucosal diseases, atypical facial pain, and malignancy.
- Diagnosis and treatment of oral manifestations of systemic disease and oral complications of cancer therapy.
- Cytologic smear and biopsy techniques.
- Microscopic laboratory diagnosis.
