Dr. Luca Gobbato
Dr. Luca Gobbato is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and an instructor in the Department of Oral Medicine, Infection and Immunity, Division of Periodontics, at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he was appointed in 2011. He received his dental degree from the University of Padova, Italy, in 2006, and earned a master’s degree and certificate in periodontology from Tufts University in 2010. He also holds a PhD in periodontal plastic surgery from the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya in Barcelona.
In 2012, Dr. Gobbato was named adjunct professor in the Department of Periodontology at the University of Padova, where he also lectures in the Master of Dental Implants program. He received the American Academy of Periodontology Educator Award in 2018 for outstanding teaching and mentoring in periodontics at Harvard.
Gobbato serves as a reviewer and editorial board consultant for the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry. He is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Italian Academy of Osseointegration, the Italian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and the Italian Society of Periodontology and Implantology.
He has authored numerous articles, reviews, case reports, and book chapters. His research interests include tissue integration of dental implants, implant surface characteristics, and periodontal therapy.
