Soo Woo Kim

Dr. Soo-Woo Kim received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and completed his periodontology training and Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) in oral biology from the same institution. He also has a Master of Science degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Kim is a recipient of the Outstanding Young Mentors Award & Dean’s Community Service Award from Harvard Medical School. He was selected as a presidential scholar from Harvard University and is a past recipient of AAP Educator Award from the American Academy of Periodontology and Young Investigator Award from the International Association of Dental Research.

He has been very active in community outreach projects to Nicaragua, Colombia, Dominica Republic, and Haiti. He built a fully functional dental clinic for short term mission trips in Haiti. He is involved in implementing a mobile clinic concept in rural part of Haiti.

He is a diplomate of American Academy of Periodontology. 

 

Fields of Interest

His primary research interest is on hard and soft tissue augmentation around the teeth and dental implants. In addition, he is interested in employing behavioral approach to understand patient compliance and treatment acceptance. Another topic of his interest is introducing effective educational methodologies.
