Dr. Israel Agaku

Israel Agaku, PhD, is a diplomate of the American Board of Dental Public Health. He has received multidisciplinary training in dentistry, public health, epidemiology, health systems, and informatics. He completed a fellowship in CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service and a residency in Dental Public Health at the National Institutes of Health. Some of his previous appointments included serving as National Leader for Epidemiology for the CDC country offices in Liberia and Sierra Leone during the West African Ebola outbreak, Deputy Associate Director for Science at CDC’s Office on Smoking and Health, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Tobacco Induced Diseases, and Associate Editor for the U.S. Surgeon General’s Report. He has authored over 100 scientific papers in leading journals.
