Charles H Frizzell
Mr. Frizzell was appointed Dean for Administration and Finance at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in May of 2013. In this role he has oversight of all business operations of the School. Prior to that, he served for 13 years as the Chief of Operations at Harvard Clinical Research Institute (HCRI), an academic research organization. Under his leadership, HCRI grew from 40 employees to 200, and revenue increased from $4 million to over $40 million. Mr. Frizzell developed procedures and practices that enabled HCRI to effectively collect, process, and report on data for over 250 clinical trials, both national and international, commercial and NIH funded, involving more than 140,000 patients. For 3 years prior to his tenure at HCRI, Mr. Frizzell served as Chief Operating Officer at the Cardiovascular Research Analysis Center, HCRI's founding organization, as part of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Mr. Frizzell has over 30 years of management experience, reengineering businesses in the healthcare, clinical trials, biotechnology, and service industries. This includes eight years of management responsibilities at Executive Life Insurance Company in Los Angeles, assisting with a reorganization and creation of Aurora National Life Assurance as the legal custodian of 38 million records. He earned his undergraduate degree at Emerson College, with further studies at Northeastern University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Colorado State University.
