Ariana Aram

Ariana Aram
Third-Year DMD


Ariana Aram is a member of HSDM’s Class of 2023. Before dental school, she studied biology and Francophone studies at Carnegie Mellon University. As a native of Boston, she hopes to be part of HSDM’s efforts to engage with younger generation students from local communities through education and mentorship. Ariana’s love for languages inspires her to build bridges with populations that are linguistically heterogeneous. In her free time, Ariana enjoys playing backgammon, photography, and watching travel documentaries.

Tejasvita Chandel picture

Tejasvita Chandel
Fourth-Year MMSc


Tejasvita Chandel is a 2022 candidate Dental Public Health Resident and MMSc candidate in Dental Education at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She teaches predoctoral students at HSDM. Tejasvita has worked in a mobile dental outreach program at Forsyth Institute, Boston, providing preventive services to children living in vulnerable communities. Her research interests include studying issues impacting oral health among vulnerable populations, substance use, and diversity in dental education. Currently, Tejasvita is working on a research project that involves using tele-dental services for special needs children in collaboration with Boston Children's Hospital.

Dahee Chung
Second-Year DMD


Dahee Chung is a member of the HSDM Class of 2024. She is an international student, originally from South Korea. Dahee received her Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Biomedical Computation from Stanford University. At HSDM, Dahee served as the vice president of Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association, the voting representative of the Harvard Graduate Council and the president of business and practice management club. Outside of school, she loves to travel around the world, do pilates and yoga, and spend quality time with friends and family.

Kaila Daniels is a member of the HSDM Class of 2025. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Prior to matriculation, Kaila attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology and Society. Outside of studying, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, painting, being active, and trying new restaurants. Throughout her time here at HSDM (and beyond), she plans to do what she can to improve the diversity, equity, and inclusion of minority students in healthcare education.

Yuying Guo
Second-Year DMD


Yuying Guo is a DMD student from Somerville, Massachusetts. She attended Bryn Mawr College as a STEM Posse Scholar and graduated with a BA in Biology. During her college years, Yuying was actively engaged in research and community-focused work. After graduating, Yuying conducted clinical research on mental health disparities with the Disparities Research Unit at the Massachusetts General Hospital. At HSDM, Yuying is active in the Sustainability Committee and is a coordinator for ACTION pediatric dental clinic. In her spare time, Yuying enjoys spending time in the outdoors, running, traveling, and watching documentaries. She is excited to join the efforts at HSDM to create a community grounded in respect, inclusion, and diversity, and to address inequities in oral health care.

Jeremiah Kim picture

Jeremiah Kim
Third-Year DMD


Jeremiah Kim is a third-year dental student who calls both Southern California and Seoul home. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biology and Architecture at Williams College and worked at an architecture firm prior to starting dental school. At HSDM, Jeremiah has found the ODI fellowship meaningful, and especially looks forward to continuing his work with the Bridge to Dental School program. Outside of dentistry, Jeremiah enjoys designing board games, everything basketball, and engaging with his faith community.

Jordan Middleton
Third-Year DMD


Jordan Middleton was born and raised in Auburn, New York. He attended college at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York (Go Bills!). While at Canisius, Jordan majored in Biology and was active in the Biology Department as a TA, student researcher, peer mentor, etc. Since arriving in Boston to attend HSDM, Jordan has worked in the Admissions Office as a recruiter, served in the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging as a student fellow, and has contributed to a number of student-led recruitment projects, such as Bridge to Dental School. As a third-year student, Jordan is busy treating patients, attending lectures, and gearing up to apply for an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency next year.

Sapna Nath is a second-year dental student from Long Island, New York. She graduated from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 2019 where she received a B.S. in Economics with concentrations in Healthcare Management & Policy and Business Analytics. She currently is the President of the HSDM Class of 2024, co-founder of the HSDM Innovation Society, Vice President for the Business Practice and Management Club and Vice President of the HSDM American Association of Women Dentists. Sapna is very passionate about the intersection of innovation, entrepreneurship, and healthcare, and applying an interdisciplinary lens to close gaps in care. In her free time, Sapna loves running, exploring Boston, and spending time with friends and family.

Aisha Oshilaja picture

Aisha Oshilaja
Second-Year DMD


Aisha Oshilaja (she/her/hers) is a second-year dental student at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Aisha graduated summa cum laude with a degree of psychology at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn). Through her studies of Chemistry and Psychology, Aisha has formed an interest in working with people to form creative solutions to problems. After developing an interest in dentistry at a young age and later a passion for social equity, Aisha hopes to use her problem-solving lens to tackle topics such as oral health disparities and access to quality dental care. During her gap semester, Aisha developed and implemented Dental Bridges, the first dental public health volunteer program that connected undergraduate students to Penn Dental School. Working to build new strategies that helped families utilize the free dental clinic, Aisha and her team quickly shifted their work to the virtual space when interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently, Aisha serves as the director of Engagement for Future Doctors in Politics, an organization dedicated to equipping future doctors with the skills and knowledge required to develop structural change necessary to improve the health of patients and communities.

Shaida Parsaei

Shaida Parsaei
Third-Year DMD


Shaida Parsaei is a DMD student in the HSDM class of 2023. She was born and raised in Tehran, Iran and moved to the US when she was fourteen. She attended the University of Texas at Dallas, majoring in Biology. While attending the university, Shaida found a passion to advocate for diversity and cultural humility as well as mentoring undergraduates. At HSDM, Shaida enjoys working with the ODIB and being a coordinator for ACTION pediatric dental clinic. She finds joy in giving back to the community and working with kids. In her spare time, Shaida loves exploring the Northeast and traveling with family and friends.

Laura Pesquera Colom picture

Laura Pesquera Colom
Third-Year DMD


Laura S. Pesquera Colom was born and raised in Puerto Rico where socioeconomic turmoil has uncovered severe health disparities. Urged by the need to help her own community and others in similar situations, she decided to pursue a career in dentistry, where disparities in care are particularly evident. In 2019, Laura obtained her BS in Biology with a minor in Spanish from Iowa State University. While at HSDM, she has been involved with Diversity and Inclusion efforts through the Latino Medical Student Association, Mission Crimson, and the HSDM Office of Admissions. Laura is passionate about increasing representation of URMs in dentistry and increasing cultural humility within health providers.

Rubee Sandhu picture

Rubee Sandhu

Rubee Sandhu was born in Montreal, Canada and moved stateside to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2011. Even though she has been living in the United States for ten years, she still applied to both undergrad and graduate school as an international student. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 2019, where she received her Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry. During her time at HSDM, Rubee has served as President of the class of 2023, held multiple student mentoring positions, worked alongside the admissions committee, and participated in community service opportunities. Outside of school, Rubee enjoys working as a part-time babysitter, running, and spending quality time with her loved ones.

Monika Soliman picture

Monika Soliman
Third-year DMD


Monika Soliman is in the class of 2023. She was born in Egypt, and her family immigrated to the United States when she was five years old. Monika grew up in New Jersey and received her bachelor's degree in biology from Rutgers University, one of the most diverse institutes in the nation. At HSDM, Monika is currently the treasurer of both the class of 2023 and ASDA, and enjoys volunteering at the ACTION clinic, Give Kids a Smile Day, and as part of the Wampanoag Outreach Group. She also enjoys mentoring undergraduate students and hopes to be able to incorporate more of that into her two remaining years at HSDM. When she is not in school, Monika enjoys working out, spending quality time with her family and friends, traveling, and engaging in her church community.

Olivia Watrous is a third-year DMD student from Guilford, Connecticut. She graduated from Northeastern University with a major in Health Science and a minor in Spanish. At HSDM, Olivia has been involved in dental education research and hopes to incorporate academia into her future career. In her free time, she enjoys trying new workout classes, traveling, and spending time with friends.

Stephanie Yang is a second-year DMD student at HSDM from Irvine, California. She graduated from UCLA with a major in Psychobiology. During her university years, Stephanie was passionate about targeting health accessibility, mentorship, and community service on-campus and in the greater Los Angeles community. At HSDM, Stephanie works closely with ASDA, serving as the Vice President of Communications on ASDA District 1 and as the Community Involvement Chair on HSDM ASDA. Aside from her professional interests in community health and orthodontics, Stephanie enjoys spending her free time drawing, journaling, and baking.

Franklin Zhang picture

Franklin Zhang
Third-Year DMD


Franklin Zhang is a third year student at HSDM from Plano, Texas. He also calls San Jose, California home as his family moved there right before college. He graduated from Rice University with a BA in Neuroscience and Cognitive Sciences with a Certificate in Spanish. During his college years, he studied abroad in both Spain and Argentina. In Argentina, he learned about public health policy and epidemiology and conducted a project regarding oral self-care habits in primary schools in the neighborhood of Caballito in Buenos Aires. At HSDM, he is active in ASDA and will serve as VP for the 2020-2021 academic year. As an ODI Fellow, he is excited to open conversations that welcome people's differences yet help in reflecting on their experiences. He hopes to channel his experiences to better understand cultural gaps in healthcare and serve the communities around him and abroad. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, running, knitting, making and drinking coffee, and exploring.
