The Inauguration events for Harvard’s 29th president, Lawrence S. Bacow JD 76, MPP 76, PhD 78, will take place on Friday, October 5, 2018, in Tercentenary Theatre at Harvard Yard.

Harvard ID or ticket is required for admission.  Harvard alumni and friends can register for tickets by completing an online form.

2:00 P.M.

Academic Procession
Boylston Hall
Delegates from other universities, Harvard faculty, current Harvard governing board members, and Harvard leadership are invited to participate in the academic procession. Delegates and Harvard faculty wishing to take part in the procession are requested to provide their own academic regalia and should assemble in front of Boylston Hall for procession formation at 1:30 p.m.

Please note Tercentenary Theatre seating will open at 1:00 p.m. and guests should be seated for the academic procession by 1:50 p.m.

Installation of Lawrence S. Bacow
Tercentenary Theatre, Harvard Yard
All members of the Harvard community—including faculty, students, staff, and alumni—are invited to attend this historic ceremony and welcome the new president. Joining the celebration will be delegates from universities around the world, community and government leaders, and friends of Harvard.

Immediately following the installation program, the celebration will continue with a festive gathering open to all ceremony attendees.
