Summary: Unrecognized and undertreated depression in older adults often contributes to poor oral health outcomes, which further impacts this population’s overall quality of life. This National Center for Equitable Care for Elders (NCECE) webinar will highlight best practices for integrating mental health and dental care through assessments and appropriate referrals. 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Explain the bi-directional relationship between poor oral health and behavioral health needs
  2. Describe the impact of social risk factors on oral health disparities in older adults
  3. Integrate strategies for establishing an interdisciplinary team-based approach for treating older adult mental health
