We have recently re-opened our hygiene services and our staff will be contacting you to re-schedule your appointment. We will be prioritizing the scheduling based on when your appointment was cancelled starting in March, 2020. Please note all appointments that were scheduled prior to our closure have been cancelled and will need to be rescheduled.
Infection control has always been a top priority of the HDC. Our office follows infection control recommendations of the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow their recommendations so that we are up-to-date on any new guidance that may be issued.
Please be aware that we have implemented a few new measures to help increase the overall safety for our patients, staff and providers. These new measures include:
-Our office will communicate with you before appointments to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked the same questions again when you arrive as well as 48 hours after your appointment. An electronic form will also be sent to your email or texted to your cell phone so you can complete it prior to arriving for your appointment.
-In order for us to maintain proper social distancing, we are limiting the number of providers we have on-site each day and scheduling appointments for longer time slots than usual. This may mean that you’re offered fewer options when scheduling your appointment. We will do our best to try and schedule you in and also try to minimize the wait time during check-in, but please understand that you may experience some delays.
-We ask that you arrive no earlier than 15 minutes ahead of your appointment. If you arrive too early for your appointment, you may be asked to wait outside. We are trying to minimize the use of the waiting room as much as possible in order to maintain proper social distancing.
-We have hand sanitizer that you will be asked to use before entering the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places around our office for your use.
-We will be checking your temperature before you enter the front desk waiting area.
-You are required to wear a mask upon entering (unless you have a medical note that specifies an underlying health issue that prohibits you from doing so).
-We will no longer offer magazines and children’s toys in our waiting room
-We have closed off our regular waiting room chairs and designated a few non-cloth chairs for patients to sit in which are regularly disinfected.
-We have taken extra measures and precautions to ensure proper cleaning and disinfecting of our office and have increased the frequency of our cleaning schedule. Throughout the day, our cleaning staff regularly disinfect doorknobs, bathrooms, equipment, materials and all other commonly touched surfaces. We have also installed higher grade HEPA filtration throughout the office and replace them based on the schedule recommended by the manufacturer.
-We ask that patients are seen alone without anyone accompanying them during their appointment, and we ask that the person who is accompanying them waits outside or in their car. If the patient requires someone to accompany them during their appointment, we allow only 1 additional person to accompany the patient in the exam room. This person will need to also be pre-screened and have their temperature checked and will also be asked to wear additional person protective equipment (PPE) before entering the exam room. Please note that translation services are offered by our office through our Language Line Translation Video System on our IPad.
