The HSDM Initiative to Integrate Oral Health and Medicine invites you to a discussion of what it will take to enable the dental profession to fully embrace vaccinating and testing our communities and boosting public health. Dentists are highly trained health professionals who have the skills to help protect the public's health, but the current scope of practice and payer policies may not allow their participation in this important work. At a time when disease prevention and coordinated care are more important than ever, dentists have an opportunity to take on a larger role in providing primary and preventive health services for their patients and in integrating dental care with whole person care. Leading experts will guide us through the issues related to scope of practice law and payer policies as well as clinical implications for operationalizing these new services.
