Modern Periodontal Tissue Regeneration: Key Principles and Techniques

Speaker: Dr. Shogo Maekawa

Abstract: The development of periodontal tissue regeneration over the past few decades has been remarkable. The use of a variety of regenerative materials and the development of surgical techniques have made it possible to save many poorly prognosed teeth. At the same time, however, it has become more complicated to select the appropriate treatment and to apply it to the patient with high predictability. This lecture will review the latest evidence and focus on the surgical techniques, material selection and indications for periodontal tissue regeneration.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the latest evidence and techniques for modern periodontal tissue regeneration in the literature.
  2. Understand material characteristics and be able to properly apply surgical designs for periodontal tissue regeneration.
