Abstract: This lecture will allow dentists to familiarize themselves with the different types of suture threads and needles. We will discuss the armamentarium needed to facilitate surgical closures in the mouth. Closure techniques and the clinical situations in which they are most indicated in periodontal surgery will be discussed.
1) To describe different suture types and materials
2) To understand the theory of different suturing techniques
3) To be able to apply these suturing techniques in clinical situations
