    Resistance Movement: Drugs, bugs and the fight against über-germs

    With many bacteria becoming impervious to drugs, new approaches are acutely needed to combat the rise of antibiotic resistance. Michael Baym and Scott Podolsky will discuss the historical recognition of drug resistance, how bacteria become immune to medication and ways to address the problem. 

    Light refreshments will be provided.

    Season of Giving: Toy Drive

    The Harvard Longwood Campus community is helping families in need by participating in the Phillips Brooks House holiday gift drive. The drive will run from Nov. 18 through December 16. The goal is to provide books, games, toys, art supplies and sports equipment to children in need. Faculty, staff and students are invited to donate new, unopened gifts for children of preschool through high-school age.
