Dr. Schnitman's career at Harvard from 1980 to 2015 focused on implant dentistry, during which time he instituted several innovations. He helped establish the first department of Implant Dentistry and the introduction of the concept of immediate loading/function which changed the way implant dentistry is practiced today. More recently, his focus has been on addressing the challenges associated with tooth loss.
