HSDM Faculty Member Receives Recognition
Dr. Romesh P. Nalliah, an instructor at HSDM and senior tutor for the Castle Society, was recently awarded an Academy Fellowship in Medical Education for the Academic Year 2014-2015. This award marks the first time a dentist has been selected by the Academy at Harvard Medical School for this fellowship. Nalliah will receive support for his project entitled “Implementation and Evaluation of Inter-professional Practice Experiences for Pre-Doctoral Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Social Work Students.”
Nalliah also received first prize for research innovation at the International Medical Education Conference (IMEC) in March in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Before a panel of judges from Australia, England, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, and South Africa, Nalliah was one of four finalists to present a keynote address on the final day of the conference. He was subsequently awarded the top prize. “I’m deeply proud of and grateful for this award,” said Nalliah. “I've been working for some time to make a mark on medical research and medical education, and this is a landmark moment for me in that pursuit.” Congratulations on these stellar achievements!
