Interview Process

An in-person or virtual interview is required for admission and is granted by invitation only. Candidates who interview will be sent a supplemental application to complete in advance of their interview. Note: the supplemental application is not available on our website. Interviews are considered an essential part of the admissions process and provide the candidate with the opportunity to articulate their knowledge and experience, suitability for the program, and potential contribution to the field of dentistry. Interviews are intended to be conversational. Candidates will have the opportunity to interact with faculty, alumni, students and staff during their visit.

2023-2024 Interview Schedule

We expect to offer both in-person and virtual interviews this cycle.
Interviews have been designed with the intention of eliminating any advantage of one format over the other.  Candidates who interview virtually will have an opportunity to visit campus. We sincerely hope that candidates will select the interview format that works best for them.

Interviews will include:

  • Orientation with a current student and the Director of Admissions
  • Two individual interviews with members of the Admissions Committee
  • Current student panel
  • Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging session
  • Financial aid session

Candidates who interview will be presented to the Admissions Committee by their interviewers.  Committee members have an opportunity to review candidates' materials in advance and to ask questions prior to voting on the admissibility of a candidate.

Offers of admission will be made beginning December 15, 2023 and will continue on a rolling basis thereafter. Seats in the entering class remain available until all invited candidates complete the interview process.

The class selection is ordinarily completed by the end of February, with some movement into the spring.  Once the class is full, applicants will be sent an admissions update and notified whether they have been placed on the wait list. The wait list is not ranked; rather, all wait list candidates are re-reviewed before an admissions offer is made. It is possible to receive an offer of admission until early August when the new class matriculates.
